Tragedy hit Barikad Crew (aka BC) when 3 members died in a car accident. These guys pioneered Rap Kreyol in Haiti.

It may be a few years old, but it’s probably new to you!  For various reasons, Cuba is one of the few hotbeds of a really original musical style in this world (think afro-cuban beats; Buena Vista Social Club).  And you just knew they’d do their thing with hiphop. Read below. Blow your mind.

You can’t put this on MTV:  real guns, real drugs, real stoners.  But no denying HT’s crazy lyrical skills!

Ain’t easy hustlin’ anywhere, even on paradise island.  From St. Kitts and Nevis, Infamus and Ballikup have the World on their Shoulder.

There’s not a lot of rappers on the island-chain-that-sounds-like-a-band: St. Vincent & the Grenadines.  And then there’s Adrian Wright rapping “Stop Destroying Our Planet.”  Yes, stop.

Sittin’ outside with the lappy, drinkin’ a beer, and postin’ raps about summer.  Ta – Dow!

Ain’t too many uber-producers out there, but Scott Storch one of ‘em.  Grammy winner Beenie Man‘s “Jamaican Ting” has that distinctive sound that kills it on the 2 & 4.
